Puppies 10 Days Old

Individual pictures can be seen at the website, but here are couple of shots from the Whelping Box.

Best in Specialty Show

Corey gets to add BISS in front of his name! Friday night, at the Dalmatian Club of Greater New York Corey was BEST OF BREED! There was an entry of over 40 Dals. We couldn't be more pleased. Huge thanks to his handler Linda McCartney-Roy.

1 Week Old

Today they are 1 week old. They are growing by leaps and bounds. With only 5, Violet has plenty of milk and is doing real well. She now has a bed of her own right outside the whelping box. She can lay there and watch over them, but doesn't need to be directly under the heat lamp. Let one of them cry, though, and she immediately gets in the box to make sure all is well.

Grammy Linda comes over most days and we talk and gossip while both sitting in the box with Violet and puppies. We need our daily "puppy fix"

Had a local horse club meeting last night. Only a small club of "older" riders, mainly interested in doing trail rides in lovely Western Maine. We have a ride scheduled for Poland Springs and one for Andover. Should be lots of fun and laughter, with no real competition in place. I get enough of that at the dog shows!

Boy, finding time to do a blog is a whole lot harder when the puppies are at your house!

Thursday was a LONG night. 3 boys were born at the house, then hours of straining with no puppies. An emergency C section ended up with 1 more boy and 2 girls. All are doing great, except the smallest boy is struggling. Hope he makes it, but as I have been told by the best "Raising puppies isn't for the weak of heart". Fingers crossed our little guy pulls through. Violet is the best of mothers, showing she always tries her hardest at any task asked of her.

Pictures will follow when I get the &(*&_ camera to work. Needs new batteries, but I can't open the access part. Running out of patience when I have so much to do!
